What is retagging a question?
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. When you retag a question, you're correcting the existing tags on the question. Retags done through the edit menu option under the post are not added to the peer review queue.
When you receive this privilege you get the ability to perform tag only edits without having to go through the peer review system. When you reach 2000 reputation, all of your edits will bypass the peer review system.
When should I retag a question?
Questions should be tagged correctly so others can more easily find them and answer them. Retag when a community member has:
- chosen incorrect tags that don't properly represent the actual question topic
- added excess, superfluous tags
- created an inappropriate new tag
- made a mistake with tags, such as using spaces instead of hyphens
