SmugMug Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SmugMug developers and end users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

It seems there are two ways to post to Google Plus. First, by embedding a jpeg link directly. There's no way to expose multiple photos in this way.

The second way is linking to the gallery. In that case, users leave Plus. This isn't as good as Picasa, where users surf the images inside of Plus.

Am I missing something?

Are you asking how to post a photo from SmugMug into Google+? How does this question apply to SmugMug? – dpollitt Jan 26 '12 at 1:50

Well, you aren't missing anything, but Google+ is. Unfortunately, Google has not released any APIs to connect into, or out of Google+. This is the reason you don't see Google+ apps or integration into existing tools, and also why photo sharing really only works via Picasa.

Perhaps Google will indeed add APIs to Google+. No one knows.

They want us to all join Google+ but they have no API's?! Nice trick Google! – dpollitt Jan 26 '12 at 4:12

thanks cmason. They have an API, I assumed it did a bit, but it's readonly. Sigh. – tedder42 Jan 26 '12 at 4:18
