Say you have a gallery that is password protected, and you are wanting to access it programatically (could be a phone app, or digital picture frame, etc.). Is this currently possible? The only solution I have found so far is using the api and logging into the main account. This is not ideal, since I may have the password for the gallery, but am not necessarily the owner of the account. |

One of the arguments you can pass to smugmug.images.get is the 'Password' argument which is the plaintext of the password for the album of images you're trying to access. You can also rely on the sessionID if the user is/was logged into SmugMug via the browser, the sessionID is located in the SMSESS cookie. If you want to be slick, you can try making the smugmug.images.get request using the SMSESS sessionID and if that works then great, if it fails then prompt them for the password. |

The API can get in without being logged in to the main account. As is documented in this page, a field called "Password" can be passed in the smugmug.images.get function, which contains the password for the album. |
