SmugMug Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SmugMug developers and end users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Besides the ability to set prices and sell prints for profit, what are the meaningful differences between the Smugmug power and pro accounts? Do pro accounts get more customization capabilities? different support?

The sales features are the big difference between the Power and Pro levels. But here are a few others that the Pro account offers that the Power level cannot use.

The ability to customize the site is the same. The support for all accounts is also the same.

Of course, only pros would want to use a lab like Bay Photo - hehe :) – dpollitt Feb 6 '12 at 14:51
Anybody who wants higher quality prints and more printing options would want to use Bay Photo. Thats like saying only Pros would want L lenses :) – Shizam Feb 10 '12 at 20:21

In addition to the ones that Doc mentioned, the one that has been much more useful than I expected is the Events feature. I use it to do a culling session with people across the internet. I send them the link and they pick their favorites, rather than writing down information and maybe getting it wrong. I used to get the description of I like the 7th picture on the 2nd page. So how do I determine that since the thumbnail count is different based on screen resolution, it is not a good indicator. Having the other person pick a favorite is much easier and faster.

It is fast and easy enough that I use it just to cull images with my wife when she is down the hall and we are both too lazy to get up.

Also don't underestimate watermarking. It makes it much easier than I expected.

I did not add events as it is more of a selling feature to me. I will add events to my answer. – Doc Walker Feb 10 '12 at 18:31
