It appears that SmugMug may be headed toward more support for interacting with Lightroom over Aperture. I'm an Aperture user but love SmugMug. Do I need to switch to Lightroom?

From the FAQ: "You should only ask practical, answerable questions based on actual problems that you face. Chatty, open-ended questions diminish the usefulness of our site and push other questions off the front page." Since your question doesn't raise a specific problem you're having, its not really constructive for a Q&A site. – P.T. Feb 9 '12 at 4:32

@P.T. not sure I agree with that, the problem is implicitly stated... he's worried about the apparent quality of support difference between his preferred workflow software and what he's seeing supported. Don answered it fairly well I think. – cabbey Feb 10 '12 at 0:03

We're huge Apple and Adobe fans over here at SmugMug. For better or worse, though, Adobe has been excited to work with us to support Lightroom (and Photoshop and Photoshop Elements), while Apple hasn't been eager to work with us on either Aperture or iPhoto so far.

We have a good relationship with Apple, so this certainly isn't some sort of problem between our companies, but for whatever reason, Apple hasn't felt like it should be a big priority for them. We'd love to see that change.

Your best bet is probably to (politely!) let them know which product(s) you'd like to see better SmugMug integration via their feedback forms:
