When uploading photos to an already established gallery, I sometimes struggle finding the gallery I’m looking for in the drop-down menu. What’s the best way to find an established gallery other than scrolling down?

What uploader are you using? – cabbey Feb 9 '12 at 4:48

When using the "Upload" button on your homepage or category page, there's really no other way than to use your mouse and scroll through the categories and galleries to find the one you want.

so this is perhaps a feature request, @Andy have you seen harvesthq.github.com/chosen ? It solves the super long select drop-down menu problem pretty nicely. – Mike Kelly Feb 15 '12 at 21:38

There are two ways to upload to a gallery from within your browser.

  1. You can use the upload button on your homepage, hover over the category / subcategory the gallery is in to locate it and then click on the gallery name to bring up the uploader.

  2. You could also go about it by navigating and opening the gallery to see the photos in it. Then within the gallery, you can use the upload button > to this gallery option and start the uploader that way.

If you are using a third party uploader (I use 'aperture to smugmug' Plugin), you can pull up the drop down list and start typing the gallery name. It finds the first match.

The list for this plugin is also arranged by category (recently created to older) and then by gallery name). If you have a lot of similarly-named galleries, type to find the start of the group of those names and then scroll to the specific one.
