SmugMug Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SmugMug developers and end users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Can the "social network" meta-tag be removed or deactivated for my pro-account site? It gets blocked by firewalls for the wrong reasons because of this tag.

(I have seen it blocked by firewalls setup to block social networking sites, intended for the Facebooks and Twitters of cyberspace, not photo sites, since snapfish, flikr, etc. are allowed through. I've had to forewarn folks to view the link I send them at home only, not at work, which of course, sounds shady.)

We don't have a "social networking" meta tag. But what is likely happening is some corporations do use software to block certain types of websites. If you can show us your site I'd like to view source to see if there's anything different on your site vs. mine or other SmugMug sites. – Andy Williams Feb 19 '12 at 0:06

I had a similiar problem at work where the Bluecoat Proxy Server (http://www.bluecoat.com/products/proxysg) categorizes SmugMug as a Media Sharing site so it is blocked. That tag is applied by the Bluecoat service that the company pays for to keep up with websites. There are other services that offer the same service. Is there a specific message that you or your users are getting?
