I have an iPhone 4S with photos I took several months ago using the default camera app. When I added these old photos to Camera Awesome so that I could upload them to my SmugMug account, I noticed that it overwrote the existing Date Modified and Date Taken with today's date. Is there a setting somewhere that will force Camera Awesome to leave as much of the original EXIF data intact as possible?

Looks like the same question on dgrin: dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=216537 with a response there. – jfriend00 Mar 5 '12 at 18:39

No setting exists in the application to change this. I would recommend if you are concerned about keeping your EXIF to not use Camera Awesome to backup your originals with data intact. The best method would be to use either iCloud or Sync to backup the images to a computer and follow standard backup procedures.

This bug should be fixed in 1.0.3

I just added a photo that I took last week with the built-in camera app, and Camera Awesome tells me the photo was taken April 06, 2012 at 13:49 PM (essentially, right now). The I uploaded to SmugMug, and the Date Taken is 2012-04-06 13:49:15 (still incorrect). Do you want me to send you the steps to reproduce? BTW, thanks for being responsive to this issue. It is much appreciated. :) – Jon Sagara Apr 6 '12 at 20:55
Unless I am wrong those dates are the same as the display format is year-month-day so it is the same – Bradford Benn Apr 7 '12 at 12:42
@BradfordBenn: The format isn't the issue; the Date Taken is incorrect because Camera Awesome is overwriting it with the current date when I import pictures. – Jon Sagara Apr 8 '12 at 15:14
@JonSagara Are you sure you have the latest version (1.0.3)? I just tried importing a photo I took last month and it shows taken on 'March 10' in camera awesome which is right. – Shizam Apr 8 '12 at 22:32
@Shizam: Yep, 1.0.3. Here is a screenshot of the About screen: i.imgur.com/HfN6k.png – Jon Sagara Apr 9 '12 at 11:53
