SmugMug Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SmugMug developers and end users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

When a guest registers (email, CAPTCHA etc) and the registration screen closes, the user must wait until they receive an email before being able to access galleries and start marking favorites. Is there a way the registratant could automatically begin adding favorites? The registration, wait for email, reload web-page flow seems cumbersome.

I am afraid not at this time. The email process helps to verify that the email address submitted is valid and prevents spammers etc from registering.

That is disappointing but you can't change what is. Preventing spammer's is already done through the captcha registration. – user552 May 14 '12 at 14:37
Two factor authentication for the... loss? – dpollitt May 16 '12 at 2:27

Keep in mind that a person can enter any email address and therefore pretend to be someone else. I don't think it's in the interest of you or your client to have a friend, family member etc. register as your client and select funny or unrelated photos as some kind of practical joke. So the email verification ensures that the person selecting the photos has actually access to the email address they registered with. – Sebastian May 22 '12 at 8:33
