SmugMug Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for SmugMug developers and end users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I recently got the Smugvault and thought it would be great to upload all of my Raw files to the site via Lightroom. Now, I'm fairly new with both products, so I missed one thing when I setup the Publish plugin for SmugMug. I left the default to upload JPEG's instead of the original file format.

I created a series of smart galleries to find Raw files from specific years and upload them. I caught my mistake part way through, but now I have mostly JPEG's uploaded instead of the Raw images.

Is there a way to update which file was uploaded, or am I better deleting the smart galleries and starting from scratch? It didn't take long, but would be nice if I could just tell it to update/republish and actually have it adapt to the new setting. Currently it's just leaving the JPEG's in place and uploading the Raw files for all new pictures.

I don't think its possible to replace like you want. But, you can upload the raw files and as long as the filenames are exactly the same, the raws will be automatically bundled with the jpgs. Try going to the Lightroom publish settings and change the format to upload original. Then publish the images to the galleries. It might work if the filenames are the same.

I've told it to upload the originals and to republish, it's not uploading anything though. The smart gallery is set to find only raw, say during year 2012. It's uploaded all of the jpegs, as it was set in the plugin, but now that I have changed the setting to upload originals, it's still not doing it. So wondering if I have to delete the smart gallery and recreate? – BSZ Jun 19 '12 at 15:16
You may be able to get it to republish by right clicking and select "Mark for Republish" on the galleries in question – Bradford Benn Jun 28 '12 at 2:17
