I was publishing from LR4 just fine until a couple of days ago (BTW- I have the latest plug-in).
The error I get is:
Smugmug API returned an error message (function smugmug.albums.change setting) message invalid permission.

Go into your SmugMug account and click on Tools -> Account Settings -> Privacy and at the bottom, make sure that Adobe LR has Full Access and Modify Permissions |
