I tried to use one of the RSS feeds from my account as a feed for background wallpaper images on my Windows desktop. My hope would be something similar to what you can achieve with the Bing image feed. However, it did not work. It seems like the RSS that SmugMug provides doesn't put the images in the same format as Bing.

How can I set up a Windows wallpaper feed using my SmugMug account?

Are your smugmug photos public? Or are they in private/hidden galleries? – P.T. Nov 12 '12 at 16:23
Public. You should be able to see them at rationalgeek.smugmug.com – RationalGeek Nov 13 '12 at 17:21
Ah, handy. I'm assuming you're picking the photo, not the gallery RSS feed, right? It looks like the NASA feed might "embed" the images in some way that Smugmug doesn't (but I don't know enough RSS to say, sorry). – P.T. Nov 13 '12 at 22:46
Actually I was trying to use the "recent" feed for my user. And yes I agree I think SmugMug embeds the photos differently in the RSS in some way that is not jiving with what Windows wants. – RationalGeek Nov 15 '12 at 11:02

I found a link that discusses how to get the feeds to work. I included this below.

This is the method I tried, but I was not able to get it to work with the SmugMug RSS feeds. This page mentions Flickr as working but not SmugMug. Do you have an example of getting this to work using SmugMug? – RationalGeek Nov 6 '12 at 18:45
