No matter what I do every image I shoot has a preset or texture, not sure which. I want to turn that off. How do I do that.

In camera mode, open the top menu with the arrow if it's not open yet. Tap on the fx tab and look for the fx with a green border around it. Tap on it to deselect it and the green border should disappear. If you can't find the selected fx, tap on any fx to select it and then tap it again to deselect it. That's it. Now you can take a photo and no fx will be applied.

Note that any fx applied are not permanent and you can even remove it on photos already taken. To do that, go to the photo in question, tap the magic wand to edit and select the fx tab. There you can click "undo" and then "done" to remove the fx.
