This is actually not a feature change. It is part of the default behavior. The link to the zip file we send in the first email after you request the download all is good for 2 weeks unless you add photos to the gallery. If you request the download all link again during those 2 weeks the system will start the download immediately. If you have uploaded ...

Two folks come to mind that I know have vast collections of images on SmugMug.
The first is Trey Ratcliff who uses SmugMug as the photo host for his popular Stuck in Customs blog. In the screenshot on a blog post here, he notes having over 175,000 photo views in one day.
The second is Thomas Hawk, who just announced he's offering photos for sale via ...

I'll quote SmugMug CEO/Chief Geek, Don MacAskill here:
"There was one memorable time when a customer asked us to store more than 2TB of his photos back in 2005. We say 'unlimited' and we mean it, so despite costing ~$20K for just this one customer, this was my reply:
http://smu.gs/pZLoFl"
So granted that info is from 2005. Now almost the entirety of ...

I think the simple answer here is no. Given what you can do with an htaccess file, it is not possible to modify the URL structure like that on SmugMug. You can use the nicename feature (look under essentials) to customize it some but that is pretty much the limit.
Redirects are possible at least to some degree using a format like this:

I know for an absolute fact that there are users with Terabytes of data, that they do not charge any more than a normal user would pay. They don't even force them to be pro users.
However, I know in the past that there have been bandwidth limits, that have been high. They only applied to photo downloads, not HTML code or even self downloads. It looks like ...

Some Background
As with any service, it might be exciting at first, and less so as you become more acquainted to it. SmugMug I believe is based on a great design, that really stands the test of time, and puts what is important front and center - great images. To me, it really parallels Google in many ways. I have grown to love the Google homepage, not for ...

Yes, you can view reports in your SmugMug Pro account about your sales history. To do that, simply click Tools > Sales History from your homepage. You'll see a list of all client orders placed from your galleries here. On the right of this screen, you can generate a few different CSV reports (spreadsheets). There are detailed and summary CSVs, and you ...

I wrote a blog post about the capacity of SmugMug in October of 2009. In a nutshell, Vincent LaForet‘s Canon Mark IV vid on SmugMug used over 20 terabytes of bandwidth for 300,000 views in 14 hours according to Baldy. I have no reason to doubt those numbers. It is about the equivalent of them delivering the text of the Library of Congress in fourteen hours.

I had a similar 'Field of Dreams' view of Smugmug when I started as well. My advice is basically this: Smugmug Pro is a great place to support your photography business, but a Pro account won't create a photography business. It is simply a component of the business; one of the tools.
Simply offering nice photos on a website will not drive huge sales. In ...

Could you please try to access your printmarks by going to your Homepage > Tools > Account Settings > Business > Branding > Printmarks and double check if the printmarks are showing there?
If the printmarks are not showing there either, please write an email to help@smugmug.com, the Support Heroes will be happy to help you further!

Have you considered using the E-Mail settings in your account. You can setup an e-mail address that will receive photos you sent and then place them into the EMail Gallery. from there you can then move and manage as you want.
The basic process is to go to the control panel and enable it, including setting a password. Then send the e-mail to the address ...

Beware too much stuff.
Unless you are trying to be a Stock Photo agency like Corbis, I think the number of photos on offer should be limited. Remember slide shows of the family vacation that droned on for hours, leaving everyone asleep but the presenter? I heard a personal portfolio should be only 12-15 images. Not thousands. Not even hundreds, but your ...
