comment Instant Upload from Android?
This generally doesn't work very well because on Android, when you choose to email a photo to someone, it sends an email-sized version of the image, not the original - thus you end up with a downsized version on Smugmug which isn't what people usually want. I haven't found an easy way around that. Plus email is very inefficient for uploading because it does a base64 encode to turn the binary into text, at least doubling the size of the image.

comment How do I link to a specific location in a video?
If Smugmug exposed a simple javascript API to your video player, then this problem could be solved with some custom user Javascript without Smugmug having to deliver the specific solution - just sayin'.

comment Will Smugmug continue supporting YUI2, even though they now have YUI3?
As I'm sure you're aware, there are likely thousands of users using YUI2-based customizations so it would take some process to get them all migrated to something new. I guess I'm assuming we'll hear about any YUI2 support demise long, long, long before it actually happens.

comment As a non-professional user, why would one pay for smugmug instead of use a free site?
If you were already going to have a Smugmug account, then also using it for backup is certainly inexpensive. But, it is not automatic and it can only handle JPEGs. If you have any other type of data that needs to be backed up (I have RAW files, Word files, etc...), then you will need a reliable choice for those. I personally use BackBlaze ($50/yr) for backup because it's 100% automatic, unlimited and because the worst kind of backup is the one you haven't gotten around to doing yet right when you most need it.

I'm not seeing the issue here in Chrome on Vista either.

@AndyWilliams - Smugmug's builtin contact form only works for pro users so this answer seems like a legit suggestion for how to allow non-pro users to contact you without subjecting yourself to SPAM. Maybe you don't want to use this option, but it seems like a legit answer and suggestion for others to consider.

+1 for simplicity. The only downside is that the viewer can't highlight and copy the email address - they have to retype it.

comment Is there a way to link SmugMug's contact form for Pros elsewhere on my site, like my navbar?
@AndyWilliams - Info is in the referenced post. If you set a bio photo, that will appear instead of the man with the old camera.

Fastline is the contributor of the Fastline Media Full Screen slideshow that many on Smugmug have used.

comment Why limit to sRGB?
Assuming sRGB is a common misconception. The fact is the non-color-aware browsers just don't know anything about color spaces so they don't really assume anything.

comment Why limit to sRGB?
Part of this is not correct. Browsers that are not color-aware are just dumb. They don't assume sRGB. They just dump the image colors from the image file directly to the screen without any mapping/manipulation to match anything. What they are actually assuming by default is that the image colorspace matches your video card/monitor's color space. If this happens to be true, you could get OK colors. If they were both sRGB or both adobeRGB or both proPhotoRGB, the images could display OK. Today's LCD panels often have some capabilities of sRGB and some of adobeRGB - matching neither.
