comment Security setting to make categories and sub-categories unlistsed with access to galleries within
Then maybe a simpler improvement for SmugMug to implement would be to present a Sharegroup as the list of galleries with their categories in tact. That way you can easily navigate a tree, rather than a long flat list of galleries, just like you would from the landing page. I mean come on guys, have you tried to use "Arrange Galleries" lately?? ;) I think I'll suggest this at feedback.smugmug.com

comment How do I make two homepage and site views - one for friends and family, and another for anonymous visitors?
Gotcha, well if this is a common scenario perhaps a feature suggestion is in order. Something like Github where you can login under any of your accounts but have ability to switch between them easily. I'm not sure I want to go this route yet, but it sounds like there's no other choice without a roadmap showing otherwise.

I've heard of others doing that too. I have a hard time justifying it given the very small amount of public content I have. Does SmugMug link the accounts so you can auth as one and easily manage both? Or do you have to login/out and manage each separately?

Can you point to the code you added? And narrow this down to one question to start?

comment Where do I put HTML for a custom homepage?
Hey Nate like Andy says there are many options for customization. However I cannot figure out from your question what it is you want to do. Can you lay out your requirements more specifically?

comment Lightroom SmugMug uploader: How to avoid JPEG re-compression?
That's a great analysis from Jeffrey, thanks for the link. So I think the answer to the question then, based on that and my own testing is - upload as 'Format: Original'.

comment Are Events supposed to modify the breadcrumb trail?
SG-NNNN=YYYY Where NNNN looks like the unique identifier for that Event URL, and YYYY looks like an integer. Clearing this cookie shows the original Gallery breadcrumb trail.

Indeed, when you visit the Event a cookie gets set with the format:

I would think so too, but it's actually not. The event is private, happy to post you the link privately but not on the public forum.

comment How can I view the favorites from all event participants together in a single collection?
Not sure who gave you a -1 but I assume it's because Andy Williams answered before you with a pretty clear solution which I plan to test out later today.

comment Building a SmugMug pro site for both personal use and commercial sales
Do you also password-protect your sharegroup and/or the individual galleries? I like the idea above to also create one broad category and organize private galleries there, but SmugMug does not seem to provide a mechanism to password-protect at the category-level.
