Photographer, tech head, and extreme sport enthusiast.
I shoot weddings professionally, and landscapes for fun. My favorite venues are half way up a 14k mountain, Ontario in Fall, and the Mediterranean at sunset.
I love talking technology, new equipment, and Canon lenses.

How do I make my site look like this example? The site given looks to be mostly javascript to me. I'm not advocating copying flash sites either at this point, but I am guessing the poster is more concerned with the "look" and not necessarily the underlying technology. |

Why did my SmugMug style change? Maybe a screenshot of what you are seeing would be helpful here? |

Why is my transparent header image not showing up? If you have two questions, please ask two separate questions, as the transparent header is not related to creating a navbar. |

Does SmugMug require the uploaded pictures to be photographs? @DocWalker - Great thank you for the info. Is this covered on the main site anywhere? |

Can I set a cookie for the new gallery style for my users? I tested it this by opening up a gallery logged in, then logging out and opening up the same gallery in a new window. I can still see the new gallery style. See screenshot(i.imgur.com/9IAzc.png). From this it makes me think being logged in isn't a requirement. What am I missing? |

How to allow mobile users to download images? Good point. If this was a per gallery setting, I would do that. But I'd rather not force all mobile users to the full site... Ugh bugs. |

How to allow mobile users to download images? Thanks John, that would work well for me to do so, but will obviously be hard for my users to find and figure out. For now I think I will be hosting the images elsewhere as SmugMug makes this quite unintuitive for my users with the bug. |

What is a good way to search on keywords using the SmugMug API? Please keep questions to a single question per. For example, the piece about the timeframe for the next release of the API should not be included in this. That in particular might be off topic for this site anyways. |

Clients Searching Password protected Folders I'm not exactly sure what your question is. What do you have the gallery setting "Hello World!" set to? Are you worried about users accessing other password protected folders? Are the galleries in question Public or Unlisted(Privacy setting for the gallery). |

What options do I have for logo fonts to keep it compatible? What do you mean by downloads? As in the page will load slower, or they have to do manual steps to see the content? There are only like 9 safe fonts on that site. It seems like today the web is full of many many more fonts, that is kind of what I was wondering about. |

How to make background of gallery categories transparent? It is preferred that rather then updating your question to include the answer, that you simply answer your own question using the answer box at the bottom of this page. You can then select it as the "accepted answer" if you wish. |

How can I stop Pinterest use on my site? If you want your website to have social sharing, you should have your settings as such(doc outlines below). Pinterest itself has show to be a great source of referrals if you are looking to sell your work. |

Is there a video tutorial which will show me how to step-by-step customize a really nice, professional looking SmugMug site? The amount of self promotion on this page is really quite extreme. You asked and answered your own question, and the entire answer reads like an advertisement. The section just quoting customer reviews has no real relevancy to this site for example. I have a hard time not flagging this for moderation to close. While I applaud you taking the time to create a video such as this, I think it would fit much better when someone organically asks this question and you provide a link with a few points on the highlights, not an advertisement for yourself. |

Is there a video tutorial which will show me how to step-by-step customize a really nice, professional looking SmugMug site? I am going to go ahead and say that self promotion of coupon codes is not desirable here, and should likely be removed. I have opened up a discussion on our meta site to see if the community agrees: meta.smugmug.stackexchange.com/questions/71/… |

Is Google Analytics widely used by SmugMuggers? Welcome Stephen. Lets keep in mind that "just wondering" questions don't typically fit here very well. Try to ask a question about a specific problem you have such as "How do I use Google Analytics on my Smugmug site". Thanks for asking though! |

Differences between Smugmug and Zenfolio for power and pro? Good point, I don't think either of the tags added in that thread are valid "smugdifferences" or "whysmugmug". I removed both on that post as well. I think here tags like "comparison,feature,feature-comparison" or similar would fit. Appending or prefixing with "Smug" makes no sense. |
